An Employer Cannot Discriminate Against Divorcing Person

There is some good news in New Jersey for those in the workplace that are going through a divorce. The Appellate Division recently held that a person going through divorce has a cause of action against an employer for marital discrimination. The ruling protects those from being fired just because they are separated or going through a divorce. While going through a divorce can be stressful, some of that stress can hopefully be relieved now that you cannot be fired just because you are separated or are going through a divorce.
